One of the best things any parent or caregiver can do for a child is to make consistent, quality medical care for that child a priority. At Novant Health Primary Care Associates Madison, we offer all the services found in a pediatrician's office so your child can get needed care from a provider who already knows your family.
Whether it's an upset stomach, an earache, a sore throat or another ailment that's affecting your child, the providers at Novant Health Primary Care Associates Madison are here to deliver the care your child needs and answer any questions you have. We understand that it can be hard to determine when your child needs medical care and when to wait it out. We're always happy to talk with you to answer your questions and alleviate your concerns.
If your child is sick and needs to see a provider in our office, we work to make that happen quickly. We reserve same-day and next-day appointments for sick children so you can get needed care quickly.
From days after birth through adolescence, our providers offer regularly scheduled preventive care to monitor your child's health and development throughout childhood. These exams include the administration of any needed vaccines (see below) and give your child's provider a chance to catch any development concerns early. These are also good opportunities for you to ask questions or address concerns. Typically, your child will see a provider for well-child checkups at the following ages:
- 1 week
- 1 month
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 9 months
- 12 months
- 15 months
- 18 months
- 24 months
- Annually starting at age 3
School, sports and camp physicals
If your child needs a medical form completed for school, or a special physical done before participating in camp or a sport, we are here for you. We regularly complete health forms needed for sports, camp or school. These forms can often be filled out at the same time as your child's annual checkup.
If you have a form that needs to be completed for your child, please bring that form with you to your child's appointment as we will not have access to it in our office.
Vaccinations are some of the most powerful tools available to keep your child healthy. Vaccines are extensively tested for safety and effectiveness before they are given. Our office follows the American Academy of Pediatrics' vaccine schedule. If you have any questions about vaccinations for your child, feel free to ask anyone in our office.
